Phillips County Health Systems (PCHS) welcomes Spencer Delgado, MSN, RN, as the hospital Director of Nursing. Spencer brings a strong background in emergency and acute care nursing, along with a deep appreciation for our rural community and our dedication to quality patient-centered care.

A Kansas native, Spencer earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University and his Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Emporia State University. His professional experience includes serving in multiple medical organizations, including The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City and Hays Medical Center.
Spencer is no stranger to Phillips County Health Systems. Before pursuing this position, he previously worked PRN within the hospital’s nursing department since 2022, where he developed a deep respect for the organization’s mission and team culture.
As a leader, Spencer is guided by compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to high-quality care. He values collaboration, encourages professional growth among his staff, and enjoys building meaningful connections with patients and colleagues alike.

Spencer’s passion for nursing began early in life after witnessing the exceptional care his younger brother received in the pediatric ICU at The University of Kansas Health System following a severe football injury. That experience inspired his lifelong dedication to nursing and compassionate patient care.

Outside of work, Spencer enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife, Samantha, and their two sons, Bennie (8) and Ollie (5). The family eagerly awaits the arrival of their third son in late October. Together, they share a love for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs. His free time is spent outside a much as possible and also enjoys fishing, camping, and golfing.
