Join Phillips County Health Systems' Outpatient Specialty Clinic team and you will be a part of a growing and progressive team delivering specialty medical care to the community.

 

Outpatient Clinic Nurse: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with rotation of back-up RN and nurse leader. 

 

The Outpatient nurse performs a wide range clinical duties that include; patient assessments, administers treatments, performs diagnostic testing, documents medical records, assists specialty physicians, schedules and coordinates patients care, and provides excellent patient care. The applicant should have the ability to work in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.  Outpatient Nurse will adhere to the values of PCHS by exhibiting teamwork, communication, accountability, commitment, customer service, professionalism, as well as meeting safety and quality standards.

Job Duties include:

  • Complete and document patient assessments, including patient vital signs, height, weight and reconcile medication list.

  • Assist Consulting Providers and the their staff in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, follow-up care, scheduling and record sharing.

  • Carry out diagnostic procedures; EKG, swabs, blood tests, etc. 

  • Carry out nursing procedures; dressing changes, wound care, central line care, suture/staple removal, etc.

  • Manage our sleep study appointments, related testing, follow-ups and insurance prior authorizations. 

Certification requirements include current Registered Nurse license for the State of Kansas, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.  NRP required within 6 months of hire.
