KAI ENGLERT, PA-C

"I was raised in a small, Kansas town on the farm. My wife and I farmed for several years before I decided to go back to school for medicine.

I have worked in many emergency departments, throughout several states, as a traveling provider over the years, which has provided me with a wide variety of experience. When it came time to establish a "home" healthcare organization and join a team full-time, Phillipsburg impressed me with its' forward-thinking team and progressive attitude."

PROFILE

Kai Englert grew up around healthcare with his mom being a Registered Nurse. However, he originally followed in his father's footsteps and took up farming until his focus changed and he decided to pursue medicine.

Kai has owned his own medical staffing agency and worked as a traveling emergency room provider for several years. He is able to bring this broad range of experiences and exposure to a variety of ER models to PCHS.

Kai had been driving through Phillipsburg for the last couple of years to one of the hospitals

  • EMERGENCY MEDICINE

  • ORTHOPEDIC AND SPORTS MEDICINE

he provided ER coverage for when he decided to stop and visit with the administration of PCHS. Kai had been impressed with the progressive attitude and forward-thinking of the PCHS team and the community of Phillipsburg. After many years of traveling, Kai was ready to put down some roots in an organization and PCHS felt like the ideal fit.

Kai was in the Kansas Army National Guard for 10 years from 2003-2012, originally enlisting as a combat medic. He went to Army OCS in 2005 and was deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader in 2008. He got out of the Guard after graduating PA school to focus on his career. Kai just recently joined the Nebraska Army National Guard as a PA in July of 2021. Kai is a Captain with an Airborne Infantry unit and plans to attend Army Airborne and Air Assault school at the next opportunity.

Kai and his wife, Rhiannon, recently got into road marches/hiking during 2020 due to the lockdowns. They find it an enjoyable form of exercise to go on long walks and Kai likes to kick it up a notch by carrying a 40lb rucksack. Their record so far is 21 miles. They also enjoy dining out, movies, concerts, sports, etc. They really like to travel and one of their goals is to visit all of the US National

Parks.
