DIALYSIS CENTER
Phillips County Health Systems (PCHS) is the first rural dialysis program within an hour radius of Phillipsburg, Kansas, providing patients with acute kidney injury or end-stage renal disease treatments during hospitalization.
PCHS's outpatient dialysis program has initiated accreditation process. This program will provide patients with chronic kidney disease access to regular dialysis treatment, comfortably and conveniently close to home.
PCHS continues to be at the forefront of delivering innovative and accessible healthcare solutions. The launch of the Phillips County Dialysis Center is a shining example of our commitment to addressing the pressing healthcare needs of individuals living in remote and underserved areas.
Chronic kidney disease affects millions of people globally, with rural communities facing unique challenges in accessing timely and quality care. Our Health Systems recognized this disparity and embarked on a journey to bridge our healthcare gap through the establishment of Phillips County Dialysis Center.

Sophisticated Treatment Equipment: The center boasts the latest in dialysis machines and equipment, ensuring patients receive optimal care during their dialysis sessions. The advanced technology and equipment were purchased through Outset and patients will be directly monitored by nephrologist specialists through TeleNeph, LLC. This equipment was acquired through generous grants from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Morgan Foundation.
Advanced Medical Team:
Our team consists of Board-Certified Nephrologist Mandeep Sahani, MD with TeleNeph, LLC; Dialysis Nurse Director Lisa Apperson, RN, BSN, CCRN; on-site Nurse Practitioner, Melinda Van Kooten, APRN, FNP-BC; specially trained nurses Carly Anderson, RN, BSN; Krista Van Diest, RN; Tabitha Batty, RN; Thelma Boydston, RN BSN, CEN and support staff are dedicated to delivering personalized care, monitoring patients' progress, and ensuring a comfortable treatment experience.

Education and Support: We understand the importance of patient education and empowerment. With the support of Registered Dietitian Lacey Becker, RD, LMNT, CDCES and Social Worker Amy Johnson, LMSW, the center offers comprehensive resources and support to help patients better understand their condition and make informed decisions about their healthcare.
Enhancing Quality of Life: By establishing the Rural Dialysis Center, Our Health Systems aims to significantly enhance the quality of life for patients with chronic kidney disease in rural areas. Patients will no longer need to travel long distances for dialysis treatment, reducing the burden on both patients and their families.
