Phillips County Health Systems (PCHS), located in Phillipsburg, Kansas, is the leading provider of health care services in northwest and northcentral Kansas. OPPORTUNITY / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of the leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer works with an exceptionally talented leadership team and a committed, dedicated Board of Trustees. Working collaboratively with an entrepreneurial CEO, Board of Trustees, and Leadership Team,  this financial leader will have a strong background in financial models, revenue cycle, assisting with the creation of solid business plans and analyses while having the flexibility to adapt to the constant change in a competitive critical access hospital environment.  Experience in healthcare, especially in a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic health systems is preferred but not required. EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years financial leadership experience ideally serving in a CFO capacity is desirable ( Experience in healthcare, especially in a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic health systems is strongly preferred but not required for a candidate eager to learn the complexities of healthcare finance. Experience as a healthcare controller or other financial leadership position is also acceptable.)

  • Experience in financial change management and new program development.

  • Operational knowledge of physician practice management

  • Experience in Critical Access Hospital environments is highly preferred

  • Effective communicator, presenter, and mentor of others.

  • Strong project management experience desired

  • Experience with new services justifications

  • In-depth knowledge of third-party reimbursement including managed care contracting and Medicare cost reporting

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, master’s degree and/or CPA preferred

  • Good teamwork skills essential
